My Everyday Skincare Routine

Happy Friday my loves! So if most of you don’t know I am a very routine oriented gal, I love my daily tasks they make my day go much smoother, I feel very out of place when I mess up or stray from my usual everyday routines. Today though I would like dive in and focus on my everyday skincare routine. Since I don’t wear makeup anymore skincare has become EXTREMELY important to my day-to-day life. Even if you do wear makeup I believe skincare is the base to smooth and healthy looking skin. Obviously the first step to obtaining good skin is to eat right and drink water, but today we are not talking about health we are talking about skincare and my favorite products that I believe take my skin to another level.

Lets talk about skin types, I would consider by skin pretty normal sometimes combination depending on the weather, but mainly I don’t have any acne just a zit here or there and sometimes my pores aren’t completely clear, but overall I would consider my skin pretty smooth and clear. One thing I discovered that has changed the skin game are skin oils, I have been using oils on my skin for about 5 years now. Often people think applying oils to your face will clog your pores, but if you apply a non-comedogenic oil (which is an oil that will not clog your pores) your skin will thank you so much! People think oil is bad and will make our skin worse, but when we strip our skin of our natural oils we need to replenish them. My top favorite non-comedogenic oil to use from the health food store is jojoba oil. I always have this oil around the house because it is pretty inexpensive and easy to obtain when I am out of my more expensive products.

Moving on to my routine! The first step to my skincare regime is to grab a cotton pad and some witch hazel and get all the excess oil/dirt off of my face. Next step is I wash my face with my FAVORITE cleanser the Youth to the People Super Food Cleanser! I love this cleanser; it makes your skin so soft and your pores so small but is still very gentle and easy going on the skin. I have a clarisonic I use to wash my face, but I don’t use it everyday only the days I feel that my skin needs that extra deep cleanse! After washing my face I pat dry my face and throw on one of my favorite skin oils, recently my favorite has been the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra Clarifying Face oil! If you have clogged pores or want to clear up acne or small blemishes this is the BEST OIL for that. Whenever I feel my pores getting a little backed up this face oil changes the GAME! It is a little pricey but totally worth every penny! Another face serum I have been drooling over is the Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum. I love using this oil in the morning because it just adds that beautiful morning glow! It is a retinol alternative so if you have sensitivity to regular retinol I would definitely recommend this product! It smooth’s out fine lines and overall helps with aging skin! After I apply either one of those face oils/serums I will apply my amazing Mario Badescu hyaluronic eye cream! Sometimes before bed I will apply a little of the Kate Somerville EradiKate acne treatment if I have a stubborn blemish and as always I am completely obsessed with facemasks, my favorites at the moment are the Peter Thomas Roth sulfur mask and the Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask! And of course like any other skincare obsessed gal I love to experiment and play with new skincare products to see what works the best for me! Other then that my skincare routine is pretty dang simple, if I am going to be out in the sun I will apply my Sunbum face sunscreen all over my face. I love a simple clean bullshit free skincare routine! Below I will link all the products I have mentioned!!!

Making Healthy a Lifestyle Not a Diet

One of the things I am pretty passionate about besides my love for fashion is my health. I was pretty healthy growing up as a kid, but about around my Junior year of high school I got really into eating super clean, counting calories, working out, and so on. Needless to say the way I was going about being healthy was not healthy at all, I was restricting calories and losing weight rapidly, I also didn’t feel that great. When I went to college the first semester I kept going with that same diet I was doing in high school. Needless to say it slowly faded because I wanted to have fun and party. I went straight from restricting so many calories and not drinking to drinking almost every night, which honestly is pretty normal in college but because of it I stopped having any willpower to workout. Slowly second semester of freshman year rolled around and my drinking habits increased but also my food habits changed, while I was still eating pretty healthy during the day I would have my 3 am binge eat after drinking all night, because of this I did gain quite a few pounds, while I didn’t look “fat”, just looked a bit more filled out a curvier, I felt awful. The drinking and eating late at night really effected my mood, I had no drive and felt lazy more often. The start of my sophomore year I craved my old healthy habits and wanted them back, I was quick too cut out alcohol which kind of annoyed my friends but it was the best for me because it taught me how to balance my drinks instead of having that “all in or not” mindset that I always had. Fast forward to second semester of sophomore year, I made my new years resolution to work out everyday, I had to have that drive to do it everyday or I wouldn’t at all. I changed my eating habits of course and immediately felt better I had so much motivation again I applied to my first “real” job. It was amazing I had all this new energy and could power through an 8 hour work day. Now of course it wasn’t all that quick and simple the past 3 years since then, I have definitely experimented with different ways to eat and I have slowly learned what my body loves and what makes it feel good. I believe in making healthy a lifestyle NOT a restrictive diet. Learning what makes you feel good is a journey it doesn’t have to be instant. You can still eat foods you want without harming your body. What I mean is change your mindset to “I am going to eat healthy and workout to feel good”, not to get to a set end goal weight, if you say that you will fail because the moment you hit that target weight you will feel as though you can stop and will just relapse into old unhealthy ways. If you focus on bettering yourself in the long run the outside appearance will slowly start to follow you as you change your ways.

12.PNGOkay so y’all may be wondering why I feel the need to share my health journey. Well recently my motivation and confidence has skyrocketed and I wish for everyone to feel the same. I believe it has something to do with the way I treat my body and how I fill it with nutrients that power me through the day. Obviously I am not a dietitian and have no place telling others exactly what to eat and how to live a healthy life. But it doesn’t take a scientist to realize we live in a society of caffeine and adderall addicted young people who are starving themselves of actual food. I believe food heals us, we try so much today to keep ourselves moving with a cup of coffee after another, popping addy’s at 2 am to finish that last minute paper, or pulling a last minute all-nighter in order to study for that history exam. I think we try so hard to fix our problems with substances instead of realizing the healthy foods and water can really solve many everyday issues that we have. It really is that simple. I wake up naturally around 7:30-8:00 am everyday with no problem at all, I crave fresh fruits and veggies, I rarely crave anything bad for me and when I do I treat myself with a healthy organic version of whatever I choose. Because of this my energy levels have gone up, my skin glows when I wake up(no joke), and I overall have the energy to wake up and workout everyday and go straight to work. Now you may be asking “Well I work all day, I don’t have time to make healthy meals for work or to even workout”. Those are just excuses if you really want to make a change YOU WILL! Now my answer to making things a little easier in the morning is to meal prep the night before it is a literal GAME CHANGER I do it all the time and it makes getting ready for work in the morning a breeze. If you don’t like to wake up early to workout, workout after work! Personally I prefer to wake up early to workout because it really gets my endorphins running and allows me to have a chance to wake up and really be prepared for my day. Another tip I am pretty passionate about is DRINKING MORE WATER!!!! I know everyone is tired of hearing it but water really does heal and make you feel better, I carry a huge 40oz hydro cell with me to work everyday, I make sure I drink the whole thing at while at work. Just remember, we live in a time where anxiety and depression is just too common. Obviously there are other factors that play into how me mentally feel, so the least we can do is treat our bodies right in the long run. Make healthy a lifestyle not a diet.

Tips for staying healthy without having to break the bank

  • Invest in a good blender (I use a VitaMix for my smoothies)
  • Buy your own frozen fruits so you don’t have to purchase 9 dollar smoothies (you can make them at home yourself!!!) You will save so much money!
  • Buy a reusable water bottle so you can refill and stay hydrated throughout the day (also plastic water bottles can be costly over time and they are also horrible for the environment, so be eco-friendly and by a reusable one!)
  • Meal prep the night before a busy day (also bring healthy snacks to work as well so you won’t be inclined to eat your lunch early and then spend money on another lunch
  • On another note wake up early and give yourself that quality “You Time” before you start your day it will overall help you take on stressful challenges throughout the day with ease

These Boots Are Made for Walkin’

Ah Yes, its finally boots/booties season! My favorite season for shoe shopping would definitely be fall, I feel as if all the designers make the cutest shoes in the fall and just want us to spend all our money! Shoes are not big for me that much in the summer since I am usually never wearing shoes, but when the cooler weather comes my bank statement definitely sees a few too many shoe purchases.

08CB181D-DBDB-4CC6-9C04-3CEB1E0DBD06.jpgOkay so moving on to my favorite part ALL THE BOOT TRENDS!!! I have been living for the trends I am seeing this fall. I have been seeing lots of boots that are not very tight around the calf and that go up to exactly under the knee or mid-calf. I personally love this trend I love a slouchy/ loose looking boot, it is just so effortless and easy to me. Pair them with jeans, a mini dress, a maxi dress, basically anything and you look ready to walk the fall runway. Animal print as we know has been huge for a while especially with clothing, but recently I have noticed animal print shoes GALORE, such as python print, leopard print, and even zebra print!! I have already given into this animal print shoe trent I actually just purchased some GORGEOUS Jeffrey Campbell boots from ShopBop, I am calling these boots my “Must Have Boots of Fall 2019” because they literally embody every boot trend this fall, loose around the calf, right at the knee, and of course snakeskin!!! If you would like to get your hands on these bad boys I will link them below. I am most definitely going to be wearing these in all of my Instagrams this fall with NO SHAME whatsoever. Another shoe brand that I am LIVING for and that you definitely need to add to your cart is MATISSE. This shoe brand has SO MANY different bootie options, I still have my pair of booties from them last fall and they still are my number one shoe I wear with everything. Ankle booties are always on trend in my opinion and Matisse always has all your ankle bootie needs! I will link and post pictures of all my favorite booties and boots below for y’all to shop!

Untitled Design.PNG

Lastly I want to talk about spending money on good quality items. You do not need to be covered in designer clothes head to toe to look chic and amazing. Accessorize with higher end products and wear normal priced clothes it will literally change the game. Shoes and purses I believe need to be good quality because if you have a “cheap” outfit and you add a nice pair of shoes you will instantly look more expensive, classy, and chic. I really do not like to spend less than $40 dollars on a pair of shoes because I love my shoes to last and want to be able to wear them for longer than 2 months without falling apart. I still love and have my booties from Matisse last year and still plan on wearing them through Fall 2019 as well. You can see the picture featured on the front of my blog I am wearing those gorgeous Jeffrey Campbell Snakeskin boots and it instantly makes me look Fall 2019 Runway Chic. Below I made a collage of some of my FAVORITE Matisse booties this autumn season, that I of course plan on buying. I pictured a dupe of my Jeffrey Campbell snakeskin boots and also another snakeskin bootie from Vici Collection that are at a more affordable price! And of course all the quick links are below so you can scoop up all the AH-MAZING shoes. Start shopping Ladies!!!

Why I gave up coffee for good!

Hey dolls!!! So today instead of fashion I wanted to talk about something more lifestyle/health related. I wanted to talk about coffee consumption and why I no longer drink coffee drink coffee every morning and really don’t plan on ever going back to having a morning cup of joe.

To get on with it, coffee today is a HUGE in our society, especially in the United States. Recently in the past decade I would say it has become pretty normal for us to purchase giant venti cups of coffee multiple times a day, (like it is water LOL), while in Europe and other countries a small cup of coffee in the morning or after a meal is sufficient enough. I have most definitely been a victim of the coffee trend I used to get nitro cold brews almost every morning to give me that caffeine fix, I would be wired for a good two hours and than BOOM I would crash and feel pretty awful. I honestly did not know why I was feeling this way so I did some research and coffee can dehydrate you immensely which is why if you do like to drink coffee you should be replenishing yourself with tons of water.

I know I know you all may be thinking how are you even functioning without coffee especially when working? At first if you are an avid coffee drinking giving it up will definitely be hard and you will have withdrawals, but after you get through that period your body will feel amazing. I am no longer bloated, no longer need a nap at 2 in the afternoon, I overall have an incredible mood and am super upbeat for most of my day, and most importantly I feel as though my mental state is balanced meaning I am able to get done more in one day than I used to because my mind and body feels so great. Of course in order for this to work you need to be eating a healthy balanced diet as well because if you eat like crap just giving up coffee won’t solve any other health issues you may have. I replaced my morning coffee drink with my favorite Matcha Latte which is what I look forward too every morning when I get up, I add honey to make it taste sweet and steam coconut milk for a milky flavor, but you can use any time of milk or sweet substitute that you would like. Other mornings I will drink a smoothie or a juice.

The difference in how I have been feeling is crazy I feel sooooo amazing all day instead of having my usual extreme caffeine highs for an hour or two and then crashing. Especially if you purchase your coffee from Starbucks instead of making it yourself, it will have a lot more caffeine than if you brew your own coffee. Having beverages that nourish your body instead of deplete them of vital nutrients can really change the way you take on your day, and it can also affect the way you look because if you feel good you look good. You can buy juice, matcha, or smoothies ready to drink at a lot of places such as Starbucks, whole foods, Dancing Goats, Kale Me Crazy, and etc. But to be honest I prefer to wake up a bit earlier and make them my own not only do you save A TON of money, you can curate your own favorite morning drink with the ingredients that agree with your body the best! Of course I am not against treating myself with a cup of coffee here and there but now I look at coffee more as like a treat than a staple in my everyday diet.

I have been coffee free for about two months now and not only does my skin brighter, my stomach feels flatter, and my mood has increased immensely. Below I will share my favorite matcha brand, favorite coconut milk, and my absolute favorite smoothie to drink before or on the way to work!

Also here are some fun little facts chacha matcha posted comparing coffee and matcha!

My all time favorite coconut milk I use for my smoothies and my matcha!

My favorite unsweetened Matcha!

My Favorite at home Smoothie Recipe (so easy!)

  • One whole ripe banana (I like it to have some dark spots on it, makes the smoothie sweeter)
  • One hearty tablespoon of peanut butter (preferably unsweetened and organic)
  • A handful of spinach or more
  • A cup of ice
  • Depending on how you like the consistency of your smoothie a cup to two cups of unsweetened coconut milk
  • Blend it all up and it should be a gorgeous light green color and it will taste like a peanut butter milkshake!!!
  • Then top with some cacao nibs (I just sprinkle them on top)

(Below is the smoothie pictured) IT IS AMAZING!

Sweater Mania!

Sweater MANIA

Happy pre-fall y’all! Or should I say second summer for us here in Georgia. Okay so it’s about that time of year where all of your favorite boutiques, brands, and stores are covered in fall vibes. I know it may seem way to hot to shop for sweaters but ladies I am telling you NOW is the time to shop for cooler weather because by the time it is actually cold we will be shopping for all of our tropical vacations coming up in the spring/summer of 2020! Today we are going to talk about some of my favorite places to buy sweaters and sweater trends that you must indulge in this Fall 2019.

NOT just the Animal print but the Animal!!!!

So animal print has always been pretty in style but in the past couple of years it has come in full force to all our latest trends, but what I have been exclusively noticing for Fall 2019 is that brands have been putting the ACTUAL animal on our clothing instead of just the “print”. I personally have been loving this trend have seen turtlenecks with tigers all over, leopards, and much more. My personal favorite and my first purchase of this trend the famous Mink Pink Snow Leopard sweater pictured below. This sweater is pretty much already sold out everywhere. If you would like to order it though I know Bohemian Mama ( has this amazing sweater for pre-order so you can swoop this gorgeous knit up. Another way you could wear a sweater when it is warmer is pairing it with some shorts like the model below did.   a166e465d917034eec5c50e1acd60e6b_900x.jpg

Color Blocking in every size, shape, and form!

Bright colors in the fall and winter is definitely a trend that came about last fall and winter, I have noticed there are a lot of bright colors this fall as well but in more of a color blocking way. You can go CRAZY with your color blocking or you can keep it more simple, below I will be listing higher, middle, and lower end options of this awesome trend. If you are a big spender and love designer brands like me Revolve and Shopbop will have the color block trends for you, below I picture this gorgeous oversized Tibi Sweater I am so OBSESSED. Another fun option would be this gray and rainbow color blocked sweater from Free People, which you can buy at Revolve as well. This sweater color blocks with more of a striped detail. Lastly one of my favorite lower end online boutiques to buy sweaters from with the latest trends would be Vici!!! They are amazing, there sweaters run between 40 and 60 dollars and are AH-MAZING, they are very good quality as well. Below I picture one of favorites it is very bright and out there but definitely follows this color block trend this season.

Falling for Tie Dye!!!

Tie-dye has been extremely big this past spring and summer but I see it making its way to Fall as well, which I am SO HAPPY about!!!! I absolutely love tie dye I have been wearing the bright tie dye all summer so I am extremely happy about toning it down and wearing some more muted tie dye looks for the fall. Below is my favorite tie dye sweater of the season and definitely one of my must haves. This sweater of course is from Free People. It’s the Cosmos pullover, pop this on with a distressed pair of jeans and some booties and you are ready for fall! Other brands like daydreamer have great long sleeve tie dye pull overs that would be great for fall transitions and Shopbop as well has some gorgeous one of a kind tie dye looks that would be great to incorporate your Fall 2019 wardrobe.

Top Swimmies 2019

Top swimwear picks of 2019

  • Somerfield Swim
  • Lahana Swim
  • Montce Swim
  • Burrows and Co.
  • Onia

Hey Lovies! It’s finally July and swimsuit season is upon us! I became a huge swimwear addict about a couple years ago and have become obsessed with finding the perfect fit in every style that looks good on my body. I have put a list together of about four swimwear brands that I think cater to most body types and look flattering on most sizes. The first brand that I have been obsessing over is Somerfield Swim I found them back in February and have already bought two bikinis from this lovely brand. Below I will post pictures of me wearing them, I noticed that I was a small in the bottoms and the tops were varying. So the underwire style swim tops I was a small while the ones without underwire I was more of a medium (I am a 32D for reference but have a petite frame so I have to sometimes make a small work).

The next brand I LOVE to death is lahana now they are a super cheeky swimwear line but you can always size up for more coverage especially the bottoms that tie on the side. I definitely recommend sizing up in this swimwear unless you want minimal coverage, I got a medium in one of the tops and let me say the girls are for sure popping out of this one. Overall this brand is super flattering and I love the way it hugs my curves and fits very comfortably. Okay so lets talk about Montce Swim, if you ladies are looking for endless options and swimsuits with more of a high-waisted vibe or maybe you just had a baby and want to cover more I 100 percent recommend Montce. Now this brand is pretty pricey but the quality is worth every penny. I have two swimsuits from them and plan on buying more in the future.

Burrows and Co. is a cute little Australian swimswear brand I found that has super cute options, I only have one bikini from them, but I do know the fit is very flattering and would for sure purchase more of this brand. Lastly but definitely not the least is Onia, this brand is amazing they have some of the most unique styles and patterns I have ever seen, I will post a picture of me below in the most perfect gingham one piece, I also love to wear it as a bodysuit sometimes because it is extremely flattering with its underwire cups.

Below are pictures of my favorite swimwear looks and wear to find them!

Stay Wild, Tan, and Barefoot

Flowy Dresses of the season

Hi loves! Summer is one of my favorite seasons despite Atlanta’s sweltering weather there is something about being able to drive up to the lake every weekend or even sit by the pool right after work on Monday lights up my day. Now as most of you can tell from my instagram pretty much I am always in a bikini in the summer (will have a blog post on my favorite swimmies soon!) but when I am not in a bikini a one step option is usually my go to especially a flowy maxi dress. A maxi dress you can dress up or down and it feels great over your skin after getting all warm and crispy in the hot summer sun! My favorite dress at the moment would have to be the Sweet Summer Midi Dress, below you can see pictures of this gorgeous frock! It is perfect because it has room to breathe and also room to eat lots snacks  (haha)! Below I will link some of my other favorite dresses I have been loving this season!

This gorgeous rainbow frock would look good in the day time with some flat sandals or some fun chinky platforms for an evening date night

Lastly here is the In the Moment midi dress this effortless frock comes in many colors and has a printed one as well! I recommend sizing down for this one as well!

On Trend: Leopard Print

Hey pumpkins!! I think the cooler weather is slowly creeping around the corner, so what better way to kick off this spooky season than with one of my favorite trends this fall, leopard print! Working in a clothing store allows me to see the trends very early on, this past August I started seeing little bits of leopard or animal print trickling its way through the store. Other designers such as Alice and Olivia, Rixo London, Joie, and many more are bringing back this awesome print. My favorite way to wear leopard this season would definitely be a leopard print skirt like I am wearing in this picture. You can easily pair a skirt with a sleek black top, or even a beige chunky sweater to dress down the look. Other fun ways to wear leopard would be booties, dresses, jewelry, and even handbags. There are so many ways you can include this beautiful trend into your everyday wardrobe. What I love the most about this trend, is that you can go all out in full on animal print or just an all black outfit with a statement handbag! There are so many ways!

I hope y’all enjoyed this post below will be links to my whole outfit including jewelry!

Is it fall yet?

Happy October 1st y’all! It may not seem spooky here in Atlanta yet but my mind is definitely set on some cozy sweaters, pumpkins, and cool breezes. Sadly it is pushing 90 degrees here in sunny Atlanta so I decided to put together a casual yet transitional outfit for a hot fall day! I laid out by the pool today so I threw on my cuddle up sweater by Free People over my swimmy, threw on some sunnies and a hat to add some fall vibes to my look! The key to dressing for warmer weather in the fall is to add cozier pieces mixed with more summer pieces, doing this adds a beautiful yet effortless transitional look!
